Despite intense orchestra work Robert Nagy is also active as a soloist. Besides his solo evenings and CD-recordings he often plays cello concertos, also rarities, as e.g. the concert for cello and orchestra by d'Albert, as a Hungarian first performance in Budapest in 2003.
Travelling with Dvorak - from Vienna to Japan
A unique and continents- bridging project were the three consecutive performances of the Dvorak cello concert: first in Vienna (Musikverein), then in Budapest (Academy of Music) and finally in Toyota. The CD of this concert was edited in 2000 (Aichi Gakusen University Orchestra).
Japan-Connection
In 1994 Robert Nagy made his first appearance as a soloist in Japan. The enthusiastic reception was followed by further invitations, his connection to this Asiatic country became more and more closer. The most recent sign of the reciprocal sympathy is the foundation of the "Nagy Robert Fan Club" that took place on November 10, 2006 in the Imperial hotel in Tokio. The aim of this club is to deepen the connection between the performer and his audience.
